Bubble-Doh

Colour it, fragrance it, mould it, model it, shape it and set it.

This is the bubbliest bubble bath ever. You only need 25g of Bubble-Doh for the greatest bubble bath. Crumble your Bubble-Doh cookie under the hot running water. Your bath will fill right up with loads of bubbles. These bubbles will stay around for hours ... if you let them!

SO...

Why am I so excited by the new Bubble-Doh?
Well, firstly it has taken me seven years to perfect the recipe and I wasn't going to offer it to you until I knew it was perfect. Secondly, Bubble-Doh is a crafter's delight. There is almost nothing you can't do with it. You can colour it any colour, you can fragrance it with any fragrance, you can roll it, and scroll it, mould it in a plastic mould, mould it in a silicone mould, cut it with a cookie cutter and hand model it. You can now have the bubbliest bubble bath in ANY shape, colour or form that you would like it.

For Valentine's Day we can have Bubble-Doh heart cookies, for Easter Bubble-Doh eggs or bunnies, for Mothers' Day and Women's Day we can have Bubble-Doh rose cookies. We can have teddies for little girls and cars for little boys, fish Bubble-Doh cookies for Fathers' Day and Father Christmas Bubble-Doh cookies for Christmas. The sky is the limit and anything you can imagine can be made with this amazing new product.

Lucious Lavender Bubble-Doh Cookies for Mothers' Day

Bubble-Doh is a great activity for children's parties and a wonderful novelty for school market days. It is easy to work with and it is really very in-expensive. 1kg costs you R55.00. Out of this you can make 20 (50g) Bubble-Doh cookies - big enough for one fabulous bubble bath. This means that 1 bubble bath costs you R2.75!

And even more exciting than that is the fact that you can make a variety of different shaped and fragranced Bubble-Doh cookies, pack them in a clear box and present all your friends and family with the most exciting gift they ever received.

All wrapped up and ready to go

These same gift boxes cost you very little to make up and can be sold at a great profit. So, if you are feeling a little squeezed by the credit squeeze or crunched by the credit crunch why don't you start up your own Bubble-Doh business and help easy the burden on your salary.

Oh well, I guess you can see that I am more than just a little bit excited about my new Bubble-Doh. Try it out and see why!

Vanilla Bubble-doh

Ingredients:

1kg Bubble-Doh (Soap Barn)
Vanilla fragrance (Soap Barn)
Mother of pearl glitter (Soap Barn)
Easter egg mould (Soap Barn)
Organza ribbon (Soap Barn)
Bubble bath stickers (Soap Barn)
Egg Box (Soap Barn)
Paper flowers (Chocolate Den)

Method:

Remove some of your Bubble-Doh from the sealed bag. (Always keep your Bubble-Doh in a tightly sealed bag to keep it from drying out.) I work with smallish quantities at a time (about 200g) so the Bubble-Doh always stays fresh. You can use plastic gloves because working long with very this very soapy mixture will dry your hands.
Mix your fragrance into your Bubble-Doh as much or as little as you like. I think your Bubble-Doh should always smell heavenly and the more fragrance the better! Knead the Bubble-Doh well till the fragrance is mixed through.
Lightly dust your mould with bicarbonate of soda to help the Bubble-Doh release easily. Fill half your egg mould with Bubble-Doh and then gently knock the egg shape out of the mould into your hand. Place the half egg on a thick wad of old newspaper covered in paper towelling. Now, make the second half of the egg in the same way. When the second half is ready you can brush the first half very lightly with some water to help stick the second half on top.
Smooth the edges of the seam with your fingers so that the join line disappears. I lkie to put the entire egg back into the mould now just to reshape it. It will release easily. Then you can brush the top of the egg (again, very lightly) with water to sprinkle the glitter.
Leave the eggs to set for 24 hours. Decorate them by tying organza ribbon around their middles and sticking in paper roses. Place the eggs in an egg box with ‘bubble bath’ stickers on the inside.

More Bubble-Doh Easter Eggs

Ingredients:

Bubble-Doh (Soap Barn)
Baking soda, fragrances, powder colours and glitter (Soap Barn)
Egg mould, egg box and fluffy chicks (Soap Barn)

Method:

Divide your 1kg of Bubble-Doh into 6 equal portions

Put a quarter teaspoon of powder colouring and 40 drops of fragrance (your favourite) on each portion

Mix each portion well so you have evenly coloured and fragranced balls of Bubble-Doh

Prepare your work space. Make sure you have a glass of water and a soft brush ready for use. Have two halves of your egg mould cut out and ready for use. Keep your glitter handy and have a huge pile of baking soda on your work surface to make your moulding easy.

Coat your egg moulds inside very well with baking soda

Press your coloured and fragrance Bubble-Doh into each half egg so they are solid and hard

Now (so as to make things easier) tap each egg half out onto your work space and coat your egg half moulds again in baking soda.

Place the Bubble-Doh egg halves back into the moulds and brush one half only with a bit of water

Put the two half eggs in their moulds together and squeeze tight. They will join up beautifully.

Because you dusted the moulds a second time with baking soda you will find that they release really easily leaving you with a perfect shaped egg

Place your egg on some paper towelling over a big thick wad of old newspaper. This will give the egg a soft base on which to rest and the thick wad of newspaper will absorb the excess water in the Bubble-Doh and allow it to set easily and quickly

Brush your egg lightly with a soft brush and water. Then sprinkly your glitter.

Leave your eggs to dry for five days

When the eggs are set they will be dry enough to pick up and pack in an egg box. They don't set very hard till much later but because they need to crumble easily into your bath it is better to have them solid but not rock hard. Finally you can pack your eggs in an egg tray and decorate with ribbon and fluffy chicks. What a gorgeous Easter gift!

Easter Fizz for your Bath

Requirements:

1kg Fizz-Bop (Soap Barn)
Ocean Mist Fragrance (Soap Barn)
Blue powder dye (Soap Barn)
Round cookie cutter (Chocolate Den)

I like to use plastic gloves when using the dye because it is very concentrated. Use the powder dye if you want your Fizz Bop to colour the water. Use powder colour (as opposed to dye) if you don't want your water to change colour. Pack your Fizz Bop into a tight 2cm block on the counter and then cut round shapes out with your cookie cutter. I found that in the current hot climate I needed to put my Fizz Bops into the fridge to set quickly. In winter you won't have to do that. Wrap your round blue ponds in cellophane. Hold your hairdryer over the cellophane to shrink it so you have a lovely neat finish. Place a Bath Fizz sticker on the side and put some double sided tape on the bottom of your yellow rubber duck. Stick your duck on top. Once you have settled into your bath, drop the blue fizzing pond and the duck into the water for the best fun bath you ever had - fizzing blue ocean mist water shared with a rubber duck! Fizz-Bop will soften the water, soften your skin, refresh and revitalise your skin and nourish it with gorgeous oils.

Soapy Play Dough for the Bath this Easter

Requirements:

1kg Soap-Doh (Soap Barn)
Assorted powder dyes (Soap Barn)
Assorted fragrances (Soap Barn)
Easter egg moulds (Soap Barn and Chocolate Den)
Soap-Doh stickers (Soap Barn)
Download label here

Method:

Cut your egg moulds out with a half cm border around the edge. Divide your Soap-Doh into separate parts for all the colours you would like to make. Colour each part with powder dye (this is very concentrated and you will achieve excellent results with it – I recommend you use plastic gloves while mixing in the colours or you will have coloured hands the whole day!) Fragrance each coloured Soap-Doh with a matching fragrance. I like to mix my colour into the fragrance first and then mix it through the Soap-Doh. It seems to work better that way. Fill each half egg with one colour Soap-Doh. Make sure you fill it right to the top (full full full) so that there is not place for air. Air will dry out your product. Close the back of each half egg with broad sellotape – which will adhere to the edges of the mould. You can stick two half eggs together with double sided tape. Package the eggs in cellophane or in boxes or even loose. Using Soap-Doh: This product is a play dough for bath time. It is soft, smooth and gentle on the skin. It is a mild soap and will wash children as they play with it. This is an all time bath favourite with children.
