Borax Powder

Borax powder, a multipurpose ingredient for cleaning, laundry and craft. Best known now as the activator in classic slime making. Buy borax in South Africa from The Soap Barn in 500g, 5kg and 25kg packs, in stock in Edenvale and sent by courier countrywide.

In slime. Borax is what turns glue into stretchy slime. It is used dissolved in water and added a little at a time, since too much makes the slime stiff and rubbery.

Around the home. Laundry boosting, general cleaning mixes and craft projects such as crystal growing.

Common questions.
Is borax the same as boric acid? No. They are related but different products, so do not swap one for the other in a recipe.
How should I store it? Keep it in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and pets.
Can I use it in soap or skincare? No. It is a household and craft ingredient, not a cosmetic one.

Safety. Keep it out of reach of children, have an adult handle the powder and the mixing, and wash hands after use. Do not use it in leave-on skin products.

Available in 500g, 5kg and 25kg. See it used in our slime and laundry powder methods.
