1. About us
The Soap Barn supplies raw materials, ingredients, packaging and equipment for making soap, cosmetics, candles and related products at home. 2. Products
We sell raw materials and supplies for you to make your own products at home. We do not sell ready-made products. Product images are for illustration and packaging may vary. All items are subject to availability and an order is only confirmed once payment reflects and stock is allocated.
3. Orders and payment
Orders are placed through this website. The minimum online order is R350,00 excluding delivery. We accept EFT (bank transfer) and the other payment methods shown at checkout. For EFT orders, goods are only dispatched once payment reflects in our account. If a pricing or stock error appears on the site we may correct it and will contact you before dispatch if it affects your order.
4. WhatsApp orders
WhatsApp is for product queries and small orders of up to 3 items only. Larger orders must be placed through the website, which calculates stock, pricing and delivery correctly. Quotes given over WhatsApp are estimates only and no WhatsApp order is confirmed until payment reflects. If you have trouble ordering on the website, send us a screenshot of the problem and we will help you complete your order.
5. Delivery and collection
Delivery is by courier and the fee is calculated at checkout based on your suburb. You may also collect your order free of charge from our shop in Edenvale once we confirm it is ready. Delivery times are estimates and we are not liable for courier delays outside our control.
6. Returns and refunds
If we sent the wrong item or something is faulty, contact us within 7 days of receiving your order and we will put it right at no cost to you. If you change your mind, unopened and unused items in their original packaging may be brought or sent back within 7 days at your cost, and we will exchange them, or issue a store credit where an exchange is impractical. For hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept returns of opened or used raw materials, ingredients or packaging. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
7. Use of our products
Our materials and ingredients are supplied for you to make your own products. You are responsible for using them safely and correctly, including following recipes, doing your own patch and safety testing, and complying with any regulations that apply to products you make and sell. The Soap Barn is not responsible for products you make with our materials, for allergic reactions, or for misuse of any item we supply. Recipes on our site are provided in good faith as a free resource, without any guarantee of results.
8. Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
9. General
These terms are governed by South African law. We may update these terms from time to time and the version on this page applies to your order.
