Clear Glycerine Base – Unfragranced

A clear melt and pour glycerine soap base, unfragranced and uncoloured, so every bar is yours to finish. Melt, customise, pour, set.

Working with it. Cut into small even cubes so it melts evenly. Use a double boiler or short bursts in the microwave, stirring between each. Do not boil. Overheated base turns rubbery and loses its clarity. Add colour and fragrance once it has cooled slightly, stir slowly to keep bubbles out, then spritz the surface with surgical spirits after pouring to pop any that rise.

What to make. See-through bars, layered soaps, embeds suspended in white base, botanical and glitter soaps, and small guest bars.

Good to know. There is no curing time. Bars are ready once fully set and released from the mould. Glycerine draws moisture from the air, so wrap finished bars and keep them out of a steamy bathroom.
