Olive Oil – Soap Making

Olive oil for soap making, the backbone of gentle, conditioning bars. It is the oil behind traditional Castile soap and the one that gives a mild bar with a creamy, low lather. Botanical name Olea europaea.

In soap. It can be used as the majority oil or the whole oil blend. A high-olive bar is soft when young and hardens as it cures, so give it longer than a coconut-heavy recipe before you use or sell it. Pair it with a lather booster such as castor oil if you want more bubbles.

Elsewhere. Massage and body oils, balms and salves, and infusing botanicals.

Storage. Cool, dark and sealed.
