Method

Clip the two halves of each mould together with bulldog clips, positioning a length of wick down the middle.
Melt the wax and let it cool until it looks milky rather than watery.
Pour the cooled wax into the mould through the small hole at the top and leave to set, then release the clips and pop out the candle.
Dip the apple or pear in coloured melted wax once or twice, and decorate the leaves with green wax.

Once you have made your apple and pear candles, here are a few ways to get a great result and put your own spin on it.

Match your wick to the container width: too small and it tunnels, too large and it smokes.
Add fragrance at around 60C so the scent binds properly into the wax.
Cure your candles for 24 to 48 hours before lighting so the scent settles and the burn is cleaner.
