Method

Gently melt your wax in a pot (never the microwave).
Hold a tapered candle so the bottom is submerged about 4cm in the water.
Pour some melted wax into the water around the candle and slowly twist while it sets, about 20 seconds.
Lower the candle a little, add more wax and repeat to the top. Work slowly and gently for the best results.

Once you have made your water candles, here are a few ways to get a great result and put your own spin on it.

Match your wick to the container width: too small and it tunnels, too large and it smokes.
Add fragrance at around 60C so the scent binds properly into the wax.
Trim the wick to about 5mm before every burn to keep the flame steady and cut down on soot.
