Method

Melt your wax gently. Seal the bottom of your cylinder with tin foil.
Dip and set your wick, attach a sustainer and position it in the middle of the cylinder.
Pack ice cubes all around the inside edge, away from the wick.
Pour the melted wax over the ice to the top and leave to set (stand it in the basin as the ice melts off). Unmould and open up the holes for a lantern effect.

Work on a protected surface, these designs can get a little messy while they set.
Let everything set fully before moving it so the shape holds.
On the first light, let the melt pool reach the edges before blowing it out, it prevents tunnelling later.
