What you will need
- White powder candle wax
- Pre-waxed wicks with sustainers
- Flower cookie cutter
- Baking tray and tin foil
- Kebab sticks
- Candle dyes or wax crayons (orange and lemon)
Method
- Gently melt the wax and pour it into a foil-lined baking tray. Leave to cool until almost set (still warm, not hard).
- Cut flower shapes from the wax with the cookie cutter and make a hole through each with a kebab stick. Leave to set completely.
- Separate the flowers and thread a pre-waxed wick through each.
- Fill a small tin with melted wax, add an orange or lemon dye or crayon and stir until coloured.
- Dip each flower candle to coat, building up the colour, then leave to set.

Tips & variations
Once you have made your orange and lemon candle, here are a few ways to get a great result and put your own spin on it.
- Match your wick to the container width: too small and it tunnels, too large and it smokes.
- Add fragrance at around 60C so the scent binds properly into the wax.
- On the first light, let the melt pool reach the edges before blowing it out, it prevents tunnelling later.
Make it your own: swap the fragrance for any scent in our range, or add a touch of candle dye for a different look.
