Soy Wax 1kg

Soy wax, the natural plant-based choice for container candles. It burns slowly, gives a soft creamy finish and washes out of a jar with hot soapy water, which is why so many makers choose it for candles sold in glass.

What to make. Container candles in glass and tins, wax melts, and candles you plan to sell where a natural wax is part of the appeal.

Working with it. Melt gently, add fragrance once it has cooled a little off the melt, stir for a couple of minutes so it binds properly, then pour on the cool side and let it set slowly at room temperature. Rushing the cool is what causes a bumpy or cratered top.

Good to know. Soy is a soft wax, so it suits containers rather than free-standing pillars. A slightly rustic, matte surface is normal and not a fault.
