9 June 2026Fizzing, colourful bath bombs are fun to make and a top seller. This easy recipe uses simple ingredients. An easy recipe from The Soap Barn using simple ingredients from our body and bath range.
What you will need
- Bicarbonate of soda
- Citric acid
- A little cornflour or Epsom salt (optional)
- Soap fragrance
- Soap colouring
- Witch hazel or water in a spray bottle
- A bath bomb mould

Method
- Mix two parts bicarbonate of soda with one part citric acid (and any dry extras) in a bowl.
- Add your fragrance and a few drops of colouring, mixing quickly so it does not start to fizz.
- Lightly spritz with witch hazel or water while mixing, until it holds together like damp sand, do not overdo it.
- Pack the mixture firmly into both halves of the mould, press together, then gently tap out. Leave to dry and harden for several hours or overnight.
